ADT perpetuating *****

Having recently sold my property and giving notice to ADT I was asked when they could come to collect their equipment which according to them was rented. I bought the property with the alarm system but was told by Jodie Burricks that when I signed up with them I apparently took over the previous owners contract, which was a rental contract. This was news to me. I was emailed a copy of the contract and the rental option was in fact ticked. I was very surprised that I didn't pick this up when I signed the contract so went in search of the original document. There was no tick on my original. When I took this to them I received confirmation that due to the ***** the ownership had been transferred. I made the new owner aware of this so there would be no comeback to me once the sale and transfer was completed. He took it upon himself to check this with ADT and the same person, Jodie Burricks, again rep**** that the equipment was rented and would be collected if he chose not to continue with them, news which I received from the transferring attorneys. This just a few days after Ms. Burricks had dealt with me confirming the exact opposite. I was rather shocked that even once caught out ADT chose to perpetuate the ********** behaviour. One would think ***** might stick in someone's memory for at least a few days, long enough to prevent being caught out again. I spoke to a supervisor, Mechelle Fortune, on 14 June to again challenge this and question why ********** behaviour was once again evident and was told that she would investigate and come back to me with a response. I have still received no further communication from anybody at ADT, now three weeks later. It seems to me that ADT are quite comfortable with repeated ***** to the point that they don't even bother responding to a complaint of this nature. The purpose of this post is to warn anybody else that may be told that their equipment is rented when it is in fact not, as well as to point out that an apperently reputable company takes cases of ***** quite lightly, something to consider when choosing armed response. I find it rather ironic that one needs to be suspicious of the very company paid to ensure our safety and security.
