ADT ****! - Inadequate Contract Cancellation Process

I feel compelled to share a disconcerting experience that has unfolded in my interactions with ADT, in the hope of alerting the public, as well as current and prospective clients, to what appears to be a questionable practice by the company.

It has come to my attention that ADT may be running a questionable scheme aimed at extracting additional funds from clients who have opted to terminate their contracts. Upon notifying ADT of my intent to cancel my contract, I diligently followed the prescribed protocol by providing one month's notice through email, as required by the contractual agreement. Furthermore, I took the necessary steps to ensure a seamless transition of the security service to a new tenant, with their contract becoming effective the subsequent month. Importantly, my contract and the associated notice period came to a legitimate conclusion on June 30, 2023, while the new tenant's contract was officially activated on July 1, 2023, ensuring uninterrupted service with ADT.

To my astonishment, I soon received an invoice from ADT, specifying an early cancellation penalty. In response, I promptly engaged with ADT's customer service team via telephone. During this conversation, ADT's agents assured me that they would take immediate action by liaising with the credit department to rectify and cancel the mentioned penalty. Additionally, I received written communication from one of ADT's agents, who acknowledged the transition to the new tenant and pledged to work toward reversing or nullifying the early cancellation penalty.

However, what followed was disheartening. Despite my adherence to all contractual obligations and the assurances provided by ADT's agents, my case was inexplicably transferred to LGR attorneys. This unexpected turn of events has prompted me to express my concerns regarding what appears to be a recurring pattern of behavior.

My research into similar cases suggests that my experience may not be an isolated incident, but rather part of an ongoing and potentially questionable business practice. As a responsible individual, I consider it my duty to share my experiences with the wider community. Therefore, I am committed to disseminating information within my locality, ensuring that my fellow ADT clients are well-informed of the circumstances that have transpired. I also feel compelled to recommend alternative security service providers, such as Titanium and SJC Securities, which have established reputations for ethical and transparent business practices.

I fully intend to utilize my email correspondence as evidence when advising current ADT clients about the less-than-satisfactory service I encountered during my engagement with ADT. My sincere hope is to prevent any further instances of ADT security signage appearing in my community, thereby safeguarding the peace of mind and security of my neighbors and friends.

It is with utmost sincerity that I share this account, with the intention of raising awareness and encouraging prospective and current ADT clients to exercise caution and consider their options judiciously.
