ADT Benoni: Unreliable Service, Zero Accountability, and a Risk to Life
Over the past three years, my experience with Fidelity ADT has been nothing short of a security nightmare.
What is supposed to be a lifeline in an emergency has instead become an expensive, unreliable liability that actively puts my property and family at risk.
Substandard Installation & Equipment The initial installation was amateurish at best, executed by a team that lacked basic professionalism. Since then, the system has been plagued by unreliability and frequent false panic signals. In a high-stakes environment, having a system that "cries wolf" or fails to function correctly isn't just a technical glitch—it’s a critical security flaw.
Pathetic Response Times The true test of a security company is their response during an actual threat. We have had two major security incidents where ADT was summoned. In both instances, the local CPF and several other private security firms arrived, neutralized the threat, and secured the area long before ADT "trundled" up. When minutes matter, ADT is nowhere to be found.
Management Apathy I have attempted to escalate these life-threatening service failures multiple times. My requests to meet with the Benoni Branch Manager have been systematically ignored. There is no tangible intervention, no corrective action, and zero follow-through. It is clear that the Benoni branch simply does not care about the safety of its clients once the contract is signed.
The Verdict ADT behaves as if the customer owes them a favor for using their service. I refuse to rely on a company that is consistently outperformed by local community volunteers and competitors. I am officially canceling my contract and moving to a local service provider that actually prioritizes response times and customer care. ADT: Altyd Die Treurigste.
Customer Sentiment: Extremely Dissatisfied Location: Benoni, Gauteng Recommendation: Avoid at all costs—look to local, responsive alternatives instead.
