Adt are Terrible

This morning at approximately 4:37am my electric fence alarm activated. adt called and I asked for a patrol to be sent to investigate. I observed the security officer arrive stand outside my house, stick a note on the gate and leave. I then contacted the control room and asked what had happened. The control room informed me that the officer had rung the intercom, received no answer and then left.

HOW IS THIS OK? Adt have specific instructions to enter my property to investigate and they have a key for access.

What if my family and I were under attack, if there were ********* in my house or on my property holding us hostage or worse?

The control room sent the security officer back and this time he did enter my property, but not before finishing smoking his cigarette first!

My family and I were lucky this time, there was no threat. BUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT TIME? This is the latest in a string of incidents - including but not limited to: not being updated with feedback after an alarm activation, response times that are sometimes over 6 hours after alarm activation and technical issues with my alarm system that I paid for an adt technician to come and resolve yet are not properly attended to. Every time I phone adt to complain, I am told that they "understand & apologise" yet nothing is ever rectified.

Today when I phoned in to complain, I requested that a senior official contact me to discuss this issue. My call was returned and I was told that the supervisor would contact me which he did. However, I made it explicitly clear to the people I spoke to both times and the supervisor that I did not want to speak to a supervisor - rather a senior official in the organisation who can effect action. Once again, another example of adt not listening to my request as a paying customer.

The supervisor I spoke to stated that he will investigate the incident and appropriately reprimand the security officer who attended - THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! He also proposed that he will undertake onsite training with personnel on how to enter my property - AGAIN, NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Surely, the adt response staff have a protocol to follow and the computer systems at the control room should show that a key is in adt's possession and that a security officer is absolutely allowed to enter my property to investigate?

I am completely dissatisfied with the service provided by adt and intend to cancel you as my security provider ASAP. I live in a boomed off area manned by adt - I will also be forcefully proposing to our communal committee that adt be fired as our security service as I am not the only person who lives here that has had issues with you.

Your service is nothing but smoke and mirrors and I am now absolutely convinced that I cannot trust adt to safeguard my home and family. You can be sure that I will be posting this on other public social media forums as the community need to understand the risks faced when engaging you to protect them.
