Absolutely terrible service from the get go

I recently moved into a new house on the 12th of Dec 2016. I new I had to take over the alarm from ADT because it was a rental alarm system; I duely set up an appointment for a sales agent to meet me on the 12th.

The person never arrived. This was a Monday and I was told she was sick. We did not receive any notification and probably would never have heard from ADT again but we knew we needed to use them; so we set up a new appointment for the following day.

So we met with the sales agent and were told it would be sorted out by Thursday or at least Friday (which is a public holiday).

All they needed to do was sign me up as a new client and reset the alarm so that I can use it. Because security is a big issue in this country I tried my best to sort this out early, I made my appointment at least a month in advance.

Did not receive any further communication or follow up. Eventually contacted them again, only to find out that there was some hold up due to my ID number not being entered properly. I gave it to them correctly, I checked my copy of the contract though and I see that one digit could be seen as a 1 instead of a 7 but later in correspondence the sales agent said they corrected it with the administrator.

Regardless, I would never have heard from them again had I not contacted them. I then phoned the call centre and spoke to someone, eventually I asked to speak to a manager. I waited on hold for about 3 minutes and was told they could not get hold of a manager. I was assured the person would follow up, get it sorted and contact me. Nothing for another couple of hours... I called again, asked to speak to a manager; same story no manager available after a 3 - 4 minute wait.

So I have gathered that ADT are terrible at customer service and that there are no managers in Durban. So it has been 4 days and ADT could not capture my name, ID no, banking details etc for an existing service which I am taking over.

All the while my house is unprotected by an alarm system which is fully opperational and by the way already paid for for this month by the previous owner. The previous owner will not give me the alarm code until it is changed into my name and apparently that is too much for ADT to sort out quickly with plently for warning.

At this point I am tempted to tell them to take their alarm system and just go with someone else. It really does not inspire confidence in a security company that is this disorganised.

I only want to deal with a manger, if in fact a manager does exist in Durban. Please call me Durban manager and if not them then the CEO, I literally don't care who at this point. I want someone to take control of this matter and SORT IT OUT!
