Disclosing information without speaking to right party
Additional Complaint: Failure to Verify Identity I would like to raise an additional concern regarding the verification process followed by ADRS. After a call with an ADRS agent ended, I received another call from the agent. When the call resumed, no identity verification or confirmation of my details was conducted before the agent proceeded with the discussion regarding my account and debt. I am concerned that this creates a risk of my confidential personal and financial information being disclosed to an unauthorised person. I request that this matter be investigated, specifically: What verification procedure ADRS is required to follow when contacting a debtor; Whether the agent followed ADRS's internal verification and authentication procedures; Why no verification was conducted when the subsequent call commenced; and Whether this conduct constitutes a breach of my privacy or applicable debt-collection requirements. I request that ADRS provide a record of the relevant calls and explain what verification was completed before my account information was discussed.

To whom it may concern, I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the conduct of your agents during the repossession that took place at my residence on 14 July. On that day, two of your agents attended my home and took possession of two mobile phones, namely an iPhone 15 and an iPhone 13. I was not provided with any documentation confirming that the phones had been collected before the agents left my premises. Before leaving, one of the agents entered his cellphone number into my phone. After researching the repossession process, I discovered that I should have been given a copy of the repossession documentation at the time. I therefore contacted the agent on 15 July to request the document. He incorrectly stated that he had already given it to me, which is untrue. As a result, I contacted Russells directly by email and requested the documentation. When I eventually received a copy, I was shocked to discover that it falsely stated that I had only handed over one phone (the iPhone 13) and that I had informed the agents that the iPhone 15 had been lost. This is completely false. At no stage did I say that the iPhone 15 was lost. I handed over both the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 13 to your agents. Prior to the repossession, the agent instructed me to wipe both phones so that my personal information would not remain on the devices. I asked my brother-in-law to assist me with this. Before wiping the phones, he took photographs of both devices, including photographs that show the date and time. These photographs clearly prove that both phones were in my possession immediately before they were handed to your agent. I also have witnesses who were present and can confirm that both phones were handed over during the repossession. I have since been informed that the agent and his supervisor, Joey, allege that I stated the iPhone 15 was missing. This allegation is false and is directly contradicted by the photographic evidence and witness statements in my possession. The obvious question is: What happened to the iPhone 15? It is no longer in my possession because I handed it to your agent on 14 July. This matter is extremely serious. The repossession records contain false information, and a device that was handed over is now unaccounted for. Unless this matter is resolved urgently, I will be proceeding with opening a ******** case relating to the missing phone and will pursue any other legal remedies available to me. I request that Russells immediately conduct a full investigation into the actions of the agents involved, provide me with a written explanation, correct the repossession records, and account for the whereabouts of my iPhone 15. I expect a written response within a reasonable timeframe. Given the seriousness of this matter, I believe that a ******** offence may have occurred, I will be reporting it to the SAPS for investigation. I will also pursuing any legal remedies available to me to protect my rights.
