Poor quality products
I bought a PowerPlus orbital sander from Adendorff Machinery Mart. When I tried to use the machine for the first time it would not switch on. I took it back and it was replaced. I used the replacement machine for about a year and again the machine would not switch on. I took the machine back and I was told that they will assess the machine to find out what the problem was. Three and a half weeks later they contacted me and I was informed that the bearings on the machine failed and that the armature, field coil, brushes and bearings had to be replaced and that the repairs are for my account. I was told that the three year manufacturer’s warranty that the machine is advertised with is only valid if the machine is repaired by the manufactures. Because the machines are directly imported by Adendolff from Belgium this is not possible. I can only come to the conclusion and is of the opinion that the power tool brands sold by Adendorff are of poor quality and in future will not buy the brand name products sold by them.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I’m truly sorry to hear about the frustration caused by the issues with your PowerPlus orbital sander and the subsequent repair process.
After reviewing the matter, we acknowledge that this situation could have been handled better. While wear-and-tear components like bearings and brushes are not covered under warranty, we believe some of the other components may fall under factory defects. We’d like to revisit this issue and cover the costs of any factory fault components, while wear-and-tear items would remain for your account.
Thank you for your patience, and we hope to make this right for you.
Kind regards,
Adendorff Support Team
