Poor quality goods - no aftersales service

I purchased a hydraulic engine crane on 04/12/2014 for R2395.00 from Siya at Adendorff Durban. I was told that the unit had a 12 month warranty (and no exclusions were mentioned verbally or otherwise). The unit started leaking oil shortly after and was taken in on 04.03.2015(exactly 3 months after). Navi at the store told us that we would be charged for repairs as leaking seals are not covered by the warranty - just by looking at it not stripping or examining. The receipt has no mention that seals are not covered by the warranty. He also said that the crane was supposed to be assembled within 10 days and complaints made to the store within that time. Why have a 12 month warranty then? Trying to talk to the staff is pointless as it ends with \sorry there is nothing more we can do". I have bought from Adendorff Durban regularly for the last few years but have now decided to rather spend a little extra money and support a company that doesn't look for excuses to honour their warranties."""
