Inadequate service

I wanted to purchase a 6.5Kva Diesel Generator (Enclosed Type) today however, When I asked if I could hear the generator run, I was told that they would only consider this if I paid for the machine first and then they would only put diesel and oil into the unit and run it for me. I asked if they at least had a demo unit, as noise suppression was absolutely imperative. Although the noise levels that are stated appear to be in line with what I am looking for, the ultimate deciding factor would be what was actually heard when the unit was run. The staff at the Springfield branch stated that they do not make the rules and that is a Head Office Ruling. (End of Story) As a last resort I asked when they may have a unit that I would be able to listen to and was told in about three weeks time. In summary the staff were not polite and in fact believe that they are doing customers a favour by serving them. In my opinion, service would be a new experience to them but also concerning, as I am loath to think how one would be treated if there was a problem with anything purchased from them. Big watch out here
