Warranty change after purchase

I bought a laptop on 05/02/2022 which broke after 6 months. Handed it in to be repaired, under warranty, at Computer Mania. After 5 weeks they call and tell me that Acer SA have changed their warranty policy (After I bought my product) and refuse to issue me a new laptop except if I pay R4000.
