Faulty ups, warranty not being honoured after multiple repairs

I purchased a UPS in 19th June last year. There is a 1 year warranty. From the start there were issues with this unit. It has been back for repairs at least 4 times. Each time it is in for 4weeks. It is currently in again and even though I provided email feeds from previous repairs, these repairs have all been logged at ACDC, yet I still had to provide further information, at no point is a discussion of a refund or replacement unit being discussed. Late last I was told I could collect the unit but the battery was in for testing. These units do not work without a battery… When I followed up today I was told that even though the battery was tested and appears to be fine, I needed to give permission for it to be opened and further tests to be done. If there is a problem with the battery I’d be liable to purchase a new battery. It seems as though the buck keeps being passed and now how I use the ups is being questioned even though the fact that it has been in for a total of at least 4 months has not been questioned. I only use it for my router and to charge a laptop when there’s loadshedding because I work from home. This is why it was purchased in the first place. Why is a refund or replacement not even being considered!

Reviewer Update
6 months after this review and still no conclusion to this matter. 4 ago I returned the unit. A battery issue again. While at the repair centre handing in my unit, another 3 came in with issue in literally 10min. 1 of which was a unit which had been purchased less than a week earlier. Finally after the unit was opened ACDC acknowledged that the unit was faulty and I was promised a refund. Banking details were supp****. Then proof of account was requested. Then 3 weeks later, still no refund, they then asked for an image of the card which was used to make the purchase. I no longer have this card. It’s irrelevant because it’s a delay tactic. 4 weeks on. No refund, no feedback. In the peak of load-shedding and I do not have the means to fork out more funds to purchase a replacement unit. That is what the refund was for. This company has been a nightmare to deal with. It’s been over a year of back and forth.
