Wonderful wifi for student/working from home

My room is 5-7 m from the wifi(straight line). I get disconnected a lot. My laptop is about 15 m from the wifi and also gets disconnected a lot. Ive called and they reboot it on their side. Next day its the exact same. Im currently sitting next to the wifi, did a speed test and got 1.40 download and 1.72 upload. Honestly, fix the wifi. Im studying from home but i get licked out a lot of the time due to the disconnecting. I get thrown out of my tests because of it, then have to relog into everything, marking out of app use(invigilator) which indicates cheating when in reality, the wifi is causing problems.
