Abacus will not help you.

I did not want to resort to this but I am left with no choice. I have been trying to lodge a claim since the 27th of June 2022. Each time, I keep getting different SMS's ranging from "Dear claimant, we need a bank statements of ****** with her details on it and a completed abacus claim form" to "Dear claimant, claim pending, requirements on claims, BANK STATEMENT WITH THE NAME AND ACCOUNT NUMBER READABLE". The email either needs to go to Ellen or Charleen, but when you email, you don't receive any response instead you receive the very same SMS's.

I have sent the same bank statements since the 27th of June 2022. I even highlighted in red where the details they require can be seen. Where have you ever seen a bank statement that does not have legible name and account number? I am frustrated beyond. On top of that, I got in touch with Charleen on Monday the 11th of July 2022 who explained to me that the problem is with how the surname was captured on the system. She told me that she will escalate the issue for me and come back to me with feedback. It has been two days and I still have not received any feedback from her. Moreover, I just called the complaints department and was assisted by a very rude man who couldn't give me feedback and told me that I will just have to wait for Charleen to get back to me.

I have seen that most people get assistance when such cases are reported to the ombudsman and I will do just that. I just wanted to warn everyone that signing up for Abacus is a ****. You will not get the help that you need from them.
