InsureSwindle- AA Warranties

I have been AA for over 5 years (no missed premiums) and recently claimed for a leaking water pump, which according to their visual diagnostics (via images and videos) should be classified as normal wear and tear (because its not broken) and not covered under the insurance. The strategic use of words as well as ambiguity on the policy as it relates to "mechanical failure" vs. "wear and tear" results in a lot of contradictions they exploit to their means at claim stage. I think the insurance ombudsman should step in to clarify some of these issues we face as clients and identify some of the systematic issues and trends used to reject claims to help improve services and practices.

In conclusion, I previously had a good relationship with AA warranties and they have replaced my water pump 3-years ago with a similar issue, so there's precedence issue at play. Nonetheless, I would advice new customers to be careful when taking up these extended warranty plans and maybe rather save the premiums in an interest bearing account for your convenience.

Hi AA ,

I haven't received any feedback from the complaints department nor has my issue been resolved. I'm still liable for payment and my claim is only partially resolved.
