I FEEL ****MED.
I took out Platinum cover with AA warranties for my partner's car in May 2019 which has a claim limit of R40 000. Today 20 July 2020 the car went in to the dealership for a minor service. The mechanical assessment showed up defects with the radiator and on further inspection it was found the cylinder head was damaged. On both defects AA warranties deny to cover either, citing the car overheated. Which car overheated I ask? When did it overheat and what were the symptoms indicating the fact. More important, how did the claims department determine this remotely sitting in their air conditioned office?
The dealership agrees with me that there's no overheating that took place and invites AA to send an inspector to the dealership. AA will have none of it. For months they have been collecting a R373 premium from my account knowing they will easily dismiss me come time for them to honour their part of the contract.
What worries me is that my second vehicle I bought from BMW came with an AA extended warranty. I shudder to imagine the time when I will have to institute a claim... A bunch of ****** you are AA warranties! Fellow motorists, stay far away from these *********.
