Appalling service

I lodged a formal complaint last week and only received a delayed response on Monday stating that the matter would be escalated to Claims. The email came from a faceless “Complaints” address with no name, no direct contact person, and no accountability.

Since then, I have received absolutely no feedback. No call. No update. Nothing.

When I phoned on Tuesday, the Claims department had no record of the supposed escalation. When I phoned again today, I was told the matter still had not even been reviewed. I am being sent from one department to another while no one takes responsibility for my case.

I pay for this service every month, yet I am left to chase them for basic feedback. This is not customer service — it is negligence and a complete breakdown in internal communication.

This experience has been unacceptable and deeply frustrating.

On 11 February 2026 at 09:02, I received an email titled “Authorization to proceed with claim on AA Warranties policy” with only one attachment (Release Note / Authorization to Proceed). No consultant phoned me to explain the authorization or the settlement amount. I repeatedly called in and received no meaningful assistance, only being told that the matter was “being looked at.”

Later the same day, on 11 February 2026 at 13:11, I formally disputed the settlement in writing. I clearly stated that there is no clause in my policy documentation requiring repairs to be carried out only by a VAT-registered workshop in order for full cover to apply. The policy wording refers to RMI or VAT-registered repairers, and I used an RMI-registered workshop.

In that dispute, I formally requested:

A full and detailed assessment report and calculation breakdown showing how the authorized amount of R4,342.50 was determined, including:
• which portions of the invoice were disallowed, and
• which exact policy clauses were re**** upon.

Written confirmation of the contractual basis for reducing the settlement due to the VAT registration status of the repairer.

Copies of all call recordings and/or transcripts relating to this claim.

None of this information was properly provided.

In your most recent email (sent at 11:58 today), you now claim that a Claims Guide was sent to me when the claim was registered. This is incorrect — no such document was received. You should state the exact date and time when this was allegedly sent.

Your response again refers to market-related pricing, failures, and workshop guarantees, which have nothing to do with my actual dispute. My dispute is simple and has never changed:
Why was my settlement reduced when I took my vehicle to an RMI-registered workshop, as allowed by the policy?

You demand detailed invoices and failure reports from me, yet you still refuse to provide your own calculation breakdown for how your settlement amount was reached.

You also continue to delay providing:

All call recordings related to this claim,

A clear calculation of the settlement, and

The name of the person responsible for this claim.

I am being passed from one department to another with no accountability, no transparency, and no proper explanation. For a service I pay for monthly, this level of handling is unacceptable.

This matter reflects poor communication, lack of ownership, and a failure to deal with a legitimate dispute honestly and directly.
