Aftermarket Warranties questionable

I had chose AA Warranties from the numerous others thinking they will honour legitimate repairs. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed after my initial claim after being with them for almost a year. To give a short summary, I noticed an unusual noise emanating from the engine compartment around the pulley/belt area. I had three assessments done at mechanic and agents within the week. All pointed to the water pump being faulty. AA Waranties repudiated the claim quoting wear and tear as their reason. They would have honoured the claim had the water pump leaked or seized. They would not take into consideration that the vehicle was taken in prior to further damage been incurred to other major components. Even the mechanics could not understand their logic for repudiating the claim. Very disillusioned with these after-market companies - seems as though they would construe any excuse not to honour a legitimate claim.
