JSE Investor Services: A Shameful Display of Incompetence and Indifference

JSE Investor Services has demonstrated an appalling lack of competence and empathy, making an already distressing situation unbearable. My attempt to redeem investor shares held in my name, invested by my late mother, Nosipho Portia Sali, has been met with relentless obstruction, particularly by agent Siwela Makgato. Their insistence on a letter of authority, which I cannot provide due to extraordinary circumstances, reveals a company utterly incapable of handling complex client cases.

After my mother’s passing, her estate was managed by my late brother, Monwabisi Sali, as I was a minor. Tragically, my brother also passed away, and his estate was entangled by Siphesihle Mzizana, incorrectly registered posthumously as Siphesihle Mzizana-Sali, his “wife,” under South Africa’s customary marriage law with the aid of distant relatives. I challenged her claims in the High Court of South Africa, where she lost decisively, as documented in court minutes I provided to JSE Investor Services. These minutes, along with certified copies of my mother’s and brother’s death certificates, a completed Confirmation of Details Form, and a selfie photo, unequivocally confirm my rightful claim to the shares.

Yet, JSE Investor Services, through Siwela Makgato, dismissed this comprehensive evidence, demanding a letter of authority. This is impossible, as Siphesihle Mzizana is untraceable—confirmed by Metropolitan Life, where she falsely claimed employment on social media, and by Alexander Forbes’ board of trustees, who investigated her whereabouts at my request. The South African Department of Home Affairs provided a form for her to relinquish any claims, but her absence renders this futile.

JSE Investor Services’ refusal to accept the High Court’s ruling and my thorough documentation is not mere incompetence—it’s a deliberate denial of my rights as the rightful shareholder. Siwela Makgato’s impersonal, formulaic response underscores their indifference, ignoring the unique circumstances and evidence provided. This organization’s outdated processes and unhelpful staff have caused significant financial and emotional strain, compounding the grief of my family’s losses. JSE Investor Services is a disgrace, and I strongly warn against entrusting them with your investments, as they prioritize bureaucratic roadblocks over serving their clients.
