POS Stands Collapsed In-Store – Zero Accountability

We commissioned 24 Hour Media to manufacture 10 POS display stands. The first 6 stands collapsed in-store within days of installation. Instead of taking responsibility, the company blamed us for “rushing the job”, insisted the stands were not defective, and instructed us to fetch the stands from stores and deliver them back to their premises for fixing, rather than collecting them or resolving the issue on site.

Customer service was extremely poor, with no urgency, no apology, and no accountability shown. The overall workmanship and handling of the matter were deeply disappointing.

Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding 24 Hour Media for POS display stand manufacture.

Overall experience: less than 1 star. 24 Hr Media South Africa Unit 1, Atlas Gardens, 40 Sycamore Crescent, Cape Farms, Cape Town, 7550

Reviewer Update
Follow-up / Clarification This update is provided to clarify certain public statements made by 24 Hour Media in response to our complaint. The party referred to as a “competitor” is Xanita, the manufacturer of the board used in the production of the POS stands. The stands were taken to Xanita for an independent technical review at our cost. Their findings are on record. Xanita confirmed that the stands were not assembled in accordance with standard manufacturing and assembly guidelines. In particular, they confirmed that rod and skiffy support should have been installed from the outset to secure the side panels and provide structural support to the shelves. A friction-fit unit, as supp****, cannot reasonably be expected to remain intact in a retail environment. The fact that a threaded support bar was only proposed after the stands had already failed in multiple stores reinforces the core issue: the stands were not fit for purpose at the time of delivery. Despite repeated in-store failures affecting our brand and retail partners, there was no apology or acceptance of responsibility for the original manufacture. Responsibility was instead repeatedly attributed to timelines, stock loading, and our team, despite the failures being consistent across multiple locations and supported by an independent manufacturer’s assessment. This complaint and update are factual, documented, and provided so that other businesses can make an informed decision when selecting a supplier for POS display manufacture.
