They have no clue what they doing
I received my IT3(f) tax certificate from 10X yesterday, and I was shocked to find that the information was entirely incorrect. It is deeply concerning that a financial services provider can issue inaccurate tax certificates to SARS—documents for which we, as clients, are ultimately held accountable.
I contacted 10X to raise the issue and encountered several frustrations. Firstly, emails sent to their support team appear to go unacknowledged. When I eventually received a response, I was informed that the error was due to a system issue they are currently working on. However, they were unable to provide any indication of when the issue would be resolved. Even more concerning, I was told that they are unable to manually correct my certificate in the interim.
It is unacceptable for any company—particularly one in the financial sector—to deliver such poor service, remain unphased by the issuance of incorrect tax documentation, and offer no clear path to resolution. This experience has significantly altered my perception of 10X and raised serious concerns about their reliability and accountability.
Thank you for your feedback.
We acknowledge your concern and confirm that this matter was previously addressed, with feedback already provided directly to you. The issue you referenced relates to a known system anomaly that our team is actively resolving.
It is important to clarify that the 2025 tax season, for the 2024/2025 tax year, only opens in July 2025. Therefore, there is no immediate risk to your SARS submission or tax affairs as a result of the temporary delay.
While the system-generated certificate does not currently reflect your correct values, we are tracking all impacted clients and will ensure that corrected tax certificates are issued well ahead of the tax filing season.
Please note that manual adjustments are not possible outside of the system framework to ensure data integrity and consistency across all client records.
We remain committed to delivering a final, accurate tax certificate in line with regulatory timelines and appreciate your patience during this process.
Regards,
10X Team

Attempting to correct such a document without formally retracting the erroneous version is not only procedurally flawed, but also raises concerns about the level of understanding and professionalism of the consultants involved. It reflects a troubling complacency with the delivery of substandard service and a lack of urgency in addressing issues that have real implications for clients.

As I mentioned to my wife this morning, engaging with 10X felt like standing in a Home Affairs queue—where asking the security guard (in this case, the 10X consultants) a question only gets you told to go back and wait.
I wish those who remain with 10X the best of luck.

We note your decision to exit 10X Investments and your continued dissatisfaction with the handling of your tax certificate concern.
While we understand that you hold a strong view on the matter, we must reiterate the facts: the tax certificate you received was impacted by a system-related issue that has already been acknowledged and is being addressed internally. The error has no bearing on your ability to meet SARS obligations, as the 2025 tax season has not yet commenced. As such, there is no prejudice to you or any other affected client at this time.
Furthermore, while you may feel the document should have been "retracted," it is important to clarify that tax certificates are system-generated and governed by reporting protocols. Manual adjustments or withdrawals outside the system would compromise the integrity of our records and are therefore not permitted. The process currently underway ensures a compliant, auditable resolution in line with our fiduciary responsibilities.
Your comparison to Home Affairs is noted. Our consultants engaged with you consistently, provided the correct information, and communicated transparently throughout the process.
We respect your decision to move your investments elsewhere and trust your new provider will meet your expectations. Should you require any further assistance during your transition, our team remains available to support you as needed.

Your further comments have been noted.
Your corrected IT3(f) certificate—reflecting accurate contribution data—was uploaded to your My10X portal on 06 June 2025, well in advance of the SARS tax season. There is no prejudice to you as a taxpayer, and no adverse reporting has been made to SARS.
10X adheres to a system-governed reporting process to ensure regulatory compliance, data integrity, and consistency across our client base. Introducing informal manual steps outside of that framework would pose operational and regulatory risk—not mitigate it.
We understand that our process may not align with your personal expectations; however, this does not render it arbitrary or flawed. It is the result of structured controls in a regulated environment. Your matter has been resolved in accordance with those standards.
As your concerns have been fully addressed and the correction implemented, no further engagement will be entered into on this public forum. Should you require assistance accessing your updated certificate, our support team remains available through formal service channels.
Kind regards,
The 10X Team
