Incorrect tax source codes on retirement annuity

I urgently need a response from 10X regarding a tax credit which has been incorrectly app**** on my tax form, so I cannot submit it. Since it seems to be reflected under the wrong source code, it has now been changed to a tax liability of R10 300. I have been waiting since 21 August to get 10X to correct the entry from code 4115 to 4102. Even the IRP5 that 10X sent me shows the correct 4102 code, but they entered it on my tax form under 4115? Please can 10X urgently sort this out!

Good day Zane,

Thank you for raising this — We understand how urgent and frustrating this must be.

We can confirm that your IRP5 from 10X reflects the correct source code (4102). The issue arises because the SARS eFiling system is currently reflecting it under 4115, which is incorrect.

4102 = Employees’ tax (PAYE) — should be reflected as a credit.

4115 = Medical scheme fees tax credit — not applicable in your case and results in the tax liability you are seeing.

We submitted a correction to SARS on 01/08/2025. At the moment, our Tax Team is working with SARS via the EasyFile platform to resolve this mismatch. Unfortunately, we cannot yet give a definite timeline for when SARS will reflect the correction, but we expect it to be resolved before the close of the 2025 tax season.

We will continue to monitor this and keep you updated. Please be assured that your IRP5 remains correct and aligns with what has been submitted.

Kind regards,
10X Investments

Hi, thanks you for your response and assistance with this issue.
I understand that there are many issues caused by the changes to source codes by SARS.
Kind regards

Hi again,
I still cannot understand the response from 10X regarding the above case:
I contacted SARS and an agent explained to me that SARS cannot change 3rd party info on a tax form, it is only the 3rd party (ie. 10X) that can do so. Therefor I don't understand why this process has to take so long or do I misunderstand the process ? All 10X has to do is to update the info on my tax form according to the original IRP5 issued to me.
This simply involves moving an amount from a source code 4115 to 4102....must I contact SARS again to get clarity on this, is the problem on their side?
