1-Grid not suitable for Word Press hosting
I have used 1-grid for hosting my WordPress websites for some years now. Recently i was told that the environment in which my websites are hosted will no longer be updated by them and that I had to move all my websites to one of their new Plesk environments. This I did reluctantly, as such a move involves quite a bit of work.
Unfortunately it seems that the new Plesk environment is still in infancy mode at 1-Grid as they are unable to configure it to do simple tasks required for WorpPress website hosting. Despite the best efforts of various helpdesk consultants over a period of three weeks, they were unable to configure their platform to do the following: * Consistently upload WP themes (without getting Error 500) * Consistently upload WO plugins (without getting error 500) * Provide a reasonable server response time - on the couple of sites that they did manage to get the WP theme and plugin installed, the server response time dropped to 30 seconds plus for loading a simple page * Provide secure webmail environment - despite installing their provided SSl certificate, and enabling webmail support for this, the webmail remains unsecured and dysfunctional.
With regard to their service the following: * I have had three tickets closed without any of the issues in the ticket resolved. There seems to be a strategy of closing tickets after a while, irrespective of its status or outcome. * I have had at least two occasions where service consultants have assured me that they have addressed a problem and tested it, only to find that the problem still persists. * I have responded a number of times to their "How did we do"" questionnaire indicating my dissatisfaction. The result is nothing - no call back, no response. I can only assume that they do not read or care about this feedback. * I have spoken to a service manager to try and address these issues. He assured me that they will be addressed. Three days later I had received no response and no action, and then all open tickets were closed.
My conclusion is that 1-Grid does not currently have the s****s to provide a stable WP environment, and that they would rather see me leave as a client than to spend further resources on this. I would therefore advise anyone wanting to host WP sites to look elsewhere.

His approach was to fully accept and agree that 1 Grid messed up. He indicated that they are reviewing their technical assistance protocols and are ensuring that problems like these escalate at an earlier stage to someone senior.
I appreciated the approach, and trust that they are sincere in addressing the problem.
I have however moved my business elsewhere.
