Why do we have travel insurance???

We took out travel insurance for our trip to Zanzibar, and as luck will have it, our flight was delayed at OR Tambo, resulting in us missing the connecting flight between Kenya and Zanzibar.

Due to the delay, we then missed the first night at the accommodation in Zanzibar, for we can't get a refund.

With having travel insurance, I thought it would be easy to claim for these items, but as always, when it comes to claiming there are always issues.

We can't claim for the lost night at the accommodation, we can't claim for costs of the delay at the airport on the night of the flight when it was delayed.

Spending all the money for travel insurance and getting only a claim amount of R100 approved is quite disgusting, might as well have left it!
