Big companies bullying innocent civilians an a Road Accident in Plattekloof Road

Afrisam and H&I Construction Pty Ltd are taking an advantage of private vehicle driver. When Afrisam truck drove into a private vehicle on H&I Constriction site in Plattekloof. The statements were taken by H&I supervisor in front of one of the H&I workers who witnessed the accident. Both drivers were made to sign and took photos of their singed statement.

Afrisam has since changed their story through a letter issued by their insurance lawyers. The letter says “We hereby inform you that we reject your claim against our insured based on the fact that you entered our insureds path of travel without ensuring it was safe to do so” Michelle Louw, Litigation Claims Specialist from BSM

Such behaviour has got no regard for the danger and costly inconvenience caused to innocent private car driver. This bulling tactic is often used by big corporates with big lawyers behind them to intimidate small pocket citizens. There is a signed statement by both drivers in front of H&I supervisors where the accident occurred.

This is H&I construction site and Afrisam is their supplier who was delivering to their site. It is their duty to make sure that the drivers that are using the roads that they are working on are not harmed. As a duty of care they should be putting a pressure to their suppliers Afrisam to make sure that innocent citizens are not abused by their suppliers on their sites. How many more accidents will be caused by reckless Afrisam drivers who can hide behind their lawyers.
