Unpaid service provider

Bryte authorised repairs on the insured 2017 Toyota Etios Sprint. We agreed to do the repairs, however upon confirming the pricing with the supplier appointed for the delivery of parts we discovered that the assessors Straighthrough requested a quote on parts for a 2003 Toyota Etios instead of the insured 2017 model. The broker was informed and the correct pricing from the appointed supplier together with our amended quotation was emailed to the relevant people being broker, Bryte, and the assessors. Therafter I was advised to arrange collection of the vehicle which we did at no additional cost. After the vehicle was in our shop we identified additional damages which once again was emailed as additionals as well as supporting photographs were emailed the the relevant people; assessments, claims update, broker, bryte and the assessor. Work was authorised, repairs were completed and vehicle once again delivered to the client at no additional charges on the 25th August. Paperwork was then sent to the assessor for authorisation, and followed up but no response . Weeks later we received a disturbing email which was both surprising and concerning from the assessor where he alleged that “parts purchased from a supplier not appointed by us is resulting in huge price differences”. To add insult to injury because of their ignorance, we were also accused of deviating from the pricing supp**** by the assessor. After all the communication explaining that the vehicle insured is a 2017 and not a 2003 appears to not having been read by the assessor and our communications to him was just dismissed. The final costing submitted on the 27th August was only signed off on the 12th September, and today 07th October we still have not been paid. As a small black woman owned business, we do not have the luxury of these delays due to the failure by Bryte to ensure that these issues of incompetence and lack of interest by the people entrusted to ensure smooth and efficient handling of all transactions. As a small business owner I need to ensure turnaround times are kept to improve my operational efficiency and be able to remain at a competitive advantage by being able to pay my supplier and retain a good credit relationship. Insurance companies like Bryte are killing small business. We have spent money on parts, delivered a service and now I have to beg to get paid. I am going into my second month of non payment, how bad is this for such a huge business.

Thank you for your response. It is not helping much as a matter of concern. I updated my banking details in 2024 and yet they insist on me having to do this again. First they quote on the incorrect parts insured, take close 2 months before asking for banking details and yet my invoice was submitted for payment on the 26th August, sixteen days away from 60 days. This is a power play against a small business. WOW, I actually am left speechless!
