NON SETTLEMENT OF THIRD PARTY CLAIM AFTER 2.5 YEAR
In June 2013, Mrs Dauth, a Zurich Insurance client, turned in front of our car and smashed into the side of our car. Zurich claimed she was stationery when this happened. The assessed damage to the car in 2013 was <br> R84000. Zurich later admitted that it was the client's fault by offering R29249.56 of the total damage. As Zurich's client is 100% in the wrong according to the accident report, how can this settlement not be 100% of the damages? After lengthy correspondence, Zurich decided to have the car assessed by their assessor. The car was towed to a panel beater in September 2015, where the Zurich assessor informed all that the car was a write off. Zurich made another offer of R33344.50. The car was returned to us early in 2016 after numerous letters requesting that the car be returned and after threats from the panel beater expecting us to pay storage. When the car was returned, the front windscreen was cracked right across. Zurich was informed of this and to date there has been no reply regarding this. There has also been no response regarding the settlement amount, which should be the full amount to repair the damage. This non-response is totally unacceptable.
