Zubagcine Funerals failed to deliver

My grandparents joined this funeral services over 5 years ago. In November 2018 i took it upon myself to pay the premiums. I went to them to find out what are they covering in case of death. A representative called Mr Mochachaoana told me that they pay Groceries, tent and 100 Chairs, transportation to the cemetery and R10 000.00 for the ***. They also said they will transport the corpse to the place of burial at no additional cost.They also offered a tombstone with an additional cost to the premium. He said they have their own people to build the tombstone. I took an option of a tombstone so the monthly premium went up to R260.00 for both my grandparents. In April 2020 i phoned them checking if everything was still fine, they checked on the system and said the premiums went up to R290.00 a month, i told them I didn’t know as they never informed me so from then i paid R290.00 My grandpa passed away on the 17.03.2021 in the evening at Strand Cape TownI contacted them, A lady called Ntswaki told me that they don’t have a mortuary in Cape Town but they have someone that they are working with who can take grandpa to the mortuary but i will have to pay R2 500.00, then they will transport the corpse to the Eastern Cape where he was going to be buried. I asked her why was this never communicated and she said “it’s always been like that.” They took the corpse then the 20.03.2021 u drive to Eastern Cape from Cape town. On the 23.03.2021 u went to Zubagcine’s offices in town ( Matatiele ). Firstly their representative told me that they don’t do Thombstones anymore, they issue the amount of R5000 to the members then we can do our own tombstone if we still feel like doing one. Meaning that i had to find a builder, buy the material and also buy the Tombstone. I asked why was this never communicated and when were these changes implemented as i was never informed as a premium payer? I was told this is how it is. Secondly, i was told they don’t issue grocery anymore they only pay R11 000.00 towards funeral and R5 000.00 for the Tombstone. I was shattered because i paid the premiums hoping that my grandparents will get a dignified send off. Things only changed when i claimed but the time i paid premiums, they were no change. One of the representatives (Nontyatyambo) told me that making a Tombstone is expensive hence they don’t do it anymore, i asked her what about the promise they made and premiums i have paid to get the service? She told me” this is how things are” I had to get a builder who charged me R2000.00 to build a Tombstone. He wanted 100 building blocks and 3 bags of Cement and those cost R1 430.00, Hw also wanted 100 face-bricks which was R1500.00, He wanted 2 Rafters and it was R80.00, then the Tombstone itself was R6 375 from them. I also had to buy the small white concrete stones for R4 00.00 a bag. So i have spent R12 185.00 on the Tombstone alone plus the R2 500.00 i paid for storage I never knew about. They were transparent to me. I paid for the services the promised they offer, then they failed to deliver. U want my money back.
