Zero Customer Satisfaction with Zone One

I commissioned Zone One to design business cards for my brand. I approved the art work and paid over R500 for the design process. I then paid over R5500 to initiate the production process.

The first hurdle came when I had to contact the Account Manager, Liz, to ensure that my cards would be delivered according to the deadline she had stipulated, as I need the cards timeously for an upcoming event. There had been zero communication from Zone One since I made the payment for the printing which I found to be unprofessional and indicated an attitude of, “Well, we have the money now so we don’t have to follow through with any kind of customer services.”

The business cards were delivered and what had been printed was not the art work I had approved. I contacted Liz, who was out of the country, and was then contacted by Sean, who I believe to be the owner of the business. He was apologetic and took responsibility for taking it upon himself to change the art work - without consulting me - and added that he thought HIS unapproved change was “more aesthetically correct”.

He said he would email me, offering me a discount. The email received indicated the offer of a 20% discount. I responded, saying I felt insulted as I neither approved of, liked nor wanted the business cards.

His email response was that of surprise. He said he wanted to settle the matter swiftly and asked what I would need in order for this to happen. I responded, saying that I would have imagined that an entire reprint with the correct art work would have been his first offer; and failing that, a significantly more substantial discount.

That email was sent over three weeks ago and I have still had no response from Sean. It feels as though he has pretended this never happened or wishes that I simply disappear with hundreds of business cards that I - once again - did not approve, do not like and do not want.

My experience with Zone One is that the staff - the owner, Sean, in particular- are wholly unprofessional, irresponsible, decidedly disinterested in their customers’ satisfaction and are happy to simply “take the money and run”, effectively ghosting their customers that express dissatisfaction with their work and refuse to adequately address and correct their mistakes.

Do not use this company. They are, invariably, *******.
