Serious Safety Concern:Zimbali View Eco Guesthouse

I had a very terrible experience at Zimbali View Eco Guesthouse, on the 10th September 2020, me and my colleague booked there for a night. At around 3am intruders made way into our rooms while we were sleeping and stole our belongings. It appears that the alarm went on and the care taker woke up and called the rapid response securities, we were woken up by them and to our dismay our belongings (i.e. Phones, laptop, language bag, sneakers, tablet, watch etc) were ******. There was no forced entry however our doors were locked.

The police were called and merely too a statement, they just took our information to generate a case number.

The owner of the place Zulu *** ***, now tells us that him and his insurance will not pay because “there was no forced entry” even though there is more than enough evidence that our rooms were broken into. His manager also saw the ******s jump the fence.

This is a hospitality establishment where safety of guests should be of paramount importance but it seems Zulu does not values his guests like that. When the police came, the told us that this is the forth time that a similar incident has happened this year alone, for sure Zulu should see this as a call for concern to upgrade his security but it seems he does not care about his guest safety.

We will further commission private investigator to check the insurance he is insured with and report the matter to the tourism board also.
