ZeroPay frustration
We purchased an item at Kloppers Bloemfontein in December 2024. Made use of ZeroPay. First frustration was it took 45 minutes tmof struggle to register online with the assistance of in Store personnel. Second frustration was the payment. First month the debit order was allegedly declined by Capitec with a R125 penalty. Took that up with Capitec who stated that my balance was 3 x the requured R2533 debit order. All my debit orders was successfully deducted. Strange that only ZeroPay was declined. Went online to pay the outstanding required amount only to find that you cannot pay just the outstanding installment. No no. You have to pay the full outstanding amount which amounted to R5066. What happened to the 3 interest free months installments. Needless to say I paid the full outstanding amount end of February 2025. My advice to Klopoers: drop ZeroPay as an account option. It's flawed. I cannot recommend ZeroPay.
Thank you for reaching out.

Please note that ZeroPay is in fact a 3-interest free instalment repayment option. The repayments are done via card collection and not debit orders. This is why only card details, and not the bank account details, are required and obtained at the time of application. If the collection then failed and you had sufficient funds in your account it could only have been declined by the authorization system (being your bank) and could be due to a number of reasons such as your account not being set for online transactions or your spend limit for online card transaction not being sufficient / reached etc. This can only be confirmed by your bank, which thy would not have seen at the time of your enquiry as they were looking for a debit order and not a card collection.
With regards to the repayment of the account you are able to either only pay the instalment due for that specific month using the "Pay Now" option or either settle the account in full account balance by manually selecting it.
One of our customer support agents will be in contact with you shortly to assist with any further question you may have and to ensure you have full clarity on how ZeroPay works to ensure a more pleasant experience in future.
Kind regards
