Worst Xmas Lunch Ever.

My daughter booked our Xmas Lunch at Zebula - Boutique Hotel. A party of 10 people at R550 per head. On arrival at the gate we had to pay R150 per car entrance fee. We arrived at the Boutique Hotel where there was no-one to greet, or welcome us. There was a table with 3 glass jugs containing what looked like Sangria but no glasses. Not a very welcoming festive atmosphere. We had to go in search of someone to assist us. In the meantime, on another table at the entrance, we noticed handwritten scribbled A4 sheets stapled together showing the names of reservations made. (Very unprofessional). Our booking was clearly visible and from what could be seen; table 3 had been allocated to us). We eventually found someone to attend to us, only to discover that we did not have a table and one would have to be set for us? We hung around like lost sheep in the entrance/foyer waiting while a table was being set. (No drinks or anything offered). Eventually we were directed to our table where it was evident that it had been haphazardly slapped together. Missing cutlery, no serviettes and no xmas decor. Despite several requests for cutlery it did not arrive. Service was non-existent with us having to get our own drinks and pack our dirty dishes on the garden wall behind us. Food was nothing to write home about and by the time we got to dessert - apart from some dry looking cupcake things that resembled red velvet and little biscuits with a pink topping that could have been an attempt at cheesecake there was nothing left. The person whom I assume was in charge on the day made every attempt to remain scarce. We discovered that the manager was not even on site? One would think that when an establishment undertakes to serve something like an Xmas Lunch they would ensure proper preparations are made and that a manager would be present? It was dismal and downright awful. What was meant to be an enjoyable and memorable day turned out to be the worst experience ever. NOT TO MENTION A COMPLETE WASTE OF HARD EARNED MONEY.
