Worst customer service...or non-existent customer service ever
I know a lot can be said about customer service in South Africa, but Zara has taken the lack of customer service and a total unwilling-to-help service to a whole new low. I understand slow customer service or shopping attendants not being informed enough about their products, but Zara makes sure you can never reach them via phone. On their website you have to be an investigative journalist to find ways to contact them and then only by Facebook Messenger, X and Instagram and an online chat forum on their website to which you get no response. I was enquiring about shoes in a certain size. It is sold out online and only available in Mall of Africa. I tried contacting them to ask to check if this store indeed have stock as I live in Pretoria and will have to drive for over an hour to get there. I also asked if they could reserve the item. I also enquired if I could pay for the item in the meantime and pick it up later. I also told them I have tried in vain for several times to contact the store in Mall of Africa to find out myself if they have stock, but they never answer their phone. Zara responded via FB Messenger with the typical generic, bland response of big companies not caring about their customers at all saying they cannot reserve the item and the best would be to check in store. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had....it leaves me as a customer completely helpless. They expect me to drive for an hour to the only other store in Gauteng without knowing if the item I am looking for is in stock, without me being able to contact the store to check if it is in stock. The very least they could do was to check with the store if they indeed have it in stock. The effort this would have taken is minimal.
