Zapper E-Fencing Specialists – Repeated non-attendance, delays, and refusal to refund for incomplete work
We engaged Zapper E-Fencing Specialists (Pty) Ltd to carry out wall repairs and related fencing work at our property in Amanzimtoti. Their original quotation stated that the work would take 3–4 days. A further quotation for a gate modification specified a duration of one day. Several weeks later, the work remains incomplete. During this period, the company repeatedly guaranteed that they would return to site to complete the work. On multiple occasions, we arranged our days around these commitments, only for them not to arrive, often with no communication at all, or with last-minute excuses. This happened repeatedly. We made numerous reasonable attempts to accommodate delays and allow the contractor the opportunity to complete the work. After continued non-performance and missed commitments, we formally requested confirmation of their plan to complete the work. Although they responded in writing, they again failed to attend site thereafter, despite their assurances. Due to the prolonged delays, repeated non-attendance, and breakdown of trust, we formally terminated the agreement and requested a partial refund for work not completed. The company has refused to refund these amounts and insists on being allowed to return to site, despite the history of missed commitments and lack of reliability. We are no longer comfortable granting access to our property. We have also raised concerns regarding invoiced materials (including precast wall slabs) versus what is visibly present on site. While we have not pursued this further at this stage, it has added to our concerns. We are posting this review to warn other consumers of our experience with repeated delays, non-attendance after guarantees, and difficulty resolving matters once trust has broken down. We are still seeking reimbur*****t of the amounts paid for work that was not completed and will be taking legal action against the company for same.
