Extremely poor management

Zane secures work by over promising but is just not able to deliver on his commitments. What looks like a great price initially ends up growing exponentially as the project progresses, add to this the constant requests to myself the client for draws before work has commenced. The project was started in June 2021, we where promised time and time again that the project would be completed in 10 weeks as the flat was available and no one was living in the flat. By December 15th 2021, not even half the work had been completed with no one on site on a daily basis. Over R300 000 had been paid for work, however nothing was done. We stopped all work with Zane as we had the home owners association on our backs and they where not happy with how slow the work was being done with random people constantly on site.

We have given Zane a year to refund us, the initial amount that needed to be refunded was R225 000, we came to a decision that R189 000 would be refunded to date almost a year later only R25 000 has been refunded. He refuses to sign an acknowledgment of debt.

Poor contract management caused him to fabricate stories and excuses to justify draws and delays, until we eventually did not allow him on site. Even his relationships with subcontractors that he will tell you are a result of years of experience and working together came to nothing.
