trying to buy sale item, system did not work

I tried to buy boots that was on sale and the sale did not want to register although I tried to do it three times. On the first working day I phoned them and they said they did get complaints about this problem but there is nothing they can do now and I will have to buy it now at full price. Pathetic! Why put things on sale if you cannot buy it?
