ZALcon: Beware this fly-by-night contractor in Northcliff Johannesburg!

Please beware of this contractor, Adnaan who goes under Zalcon construction operating in Northcliff/Johannesburg. Totally disastrous experience which is not resolved 6 months later.

I got in touch with him after a whats app broadcast and I followed through with him after getting reference checks (from him) and a economical quotation. All down hill from there.

Problems: 1) Leaves workers un-supervised, they had to re-lay a concrete floor twice and it still is not suitable after the 2nd re-laying for a teracoat finish as per the teracoat installer, even though he gave them the specifications. Dunno whether to blame him for poor supervision or pure incompetence.

2) Does not look after all the items which were removed from the house (cupboards, skirtings, doors etc..) even though they were planned to be refitted elsewhere. Left them in the rain to rot and weather.

3) He gets cheap sub-contractors who are also ***********. The aluminium company he got was all cheap china goods which chipped easliy, doesnt close and handles /frames are skew. He recommended them as they did his place fine. His plumber messed up with everything and nearly ALL his work needed to be redone. Couldn't even fix a leaking toilet. 4) He is dishonest!!! Used my R400 Stabila level without permission, and messed it with concrete. Said he will replace it but never did. RAN AWAY with most of the money being paid and the work is not done despite trying to call him and whats app him. The ******* removal company came to demand money from us as they had done a few loads and were not paid by him, even though we had paid way more than the deposit to him
