Unscrupolous Attorney

I approached Zakkiya Bulbulia attorneys whilst my matter was in court already. The current matter was being dealt with in Roodepoort Magistrates which was the contestation of the maternal grandmother requesting primary residence of my grandson. My son, the biological father of the child involved, was already granted primary residence since the mother passed away. The maternal grandmother was awarded visitation every alternate weekend. The child was assaulted during one of his visits to the maternal grandmother and they falsely accused my wife of the incident. We then approached Zakiyya Bulbulia attorneys in order to obtain a high court order against the maternal grandmother to have here visitation rights suspended. We supp**** her with the evidence we had in our possession, which consisted of video recordings and various pictures, reports from the social workers and WhatsApp messages. We had one consultation with her, and she requested that we should pay her fifteen thousand rand as a retainer which we did before leaving her office on that day. As the matter in Roodepoort Magistrate Court was continuing, she would let her secretary call us to provide an update on the proceedings and requested for reports of the social workers involved. My wife and I made an application for adoption and had a private social worker attending to the proceedings. This lawyer Zakkiya Bulbulia made it a point to incessantly demand the report of this social worker. She never attended court on a single occasion, and it was decided that we will wait for the outcome of the matter in Roodepoort before making a high court application. When the matter was concluded, and the adoption was granted at Roodepoort Magistrate Court. I requested for a statement from her and that the balance of my retainer be returned, she initially employed delay tactics to provide me with a statement and the balance of my retainer. A month passed by, and I received no response from her. I wrote her an email and informed her that I want to have the statement audited and If necessary, refer the matter to the Law Society. I also informed her that I plan on writing a review of her lousy services on Hello Peter. She responded with a letter claiming that she did not attend court in order to reduce cost and I would personally attend court. Yet I had an attorney already present. She had no input whatsoever in the proceedings at Roodepoort Magistrate Court. My instructions to her were for a high court application to be made pending the outcome of the matter at Roodepoort. Secondly, she indicated that I will receive my statement before their offices close and to this day I have not received it yet. She also indicated that I am welcome to have the account taxed and mentions that I am aware of the one consultation I had with her and the perusal of documents. She also mentions counsel, yet I have never received any counselling from her. She also has the sheer audacity to claim that the outcome of the matter at Roodepoort Magistrate Court was due to her handling of the matter. Nothing can be further from the truth. She furthermore comments to say that my threatening email is “scorned at with the contempt it deserves and that it is a pathetic attempt to evade liability”. This is how she responds when I insist upon my rights. She also threatened me with legal proceedings if I should write a review. Interestingly she uses the word “pathetic” below is a description of her by someone who wrote a review of her on google. You will find it if you google her: Very inconsistent with the work she takes on. Hardly in office and always rescheduling appoinnents Calls always going to voicemail and there is no receptionist in the lenasia branch. Does not have a branch in sandton, lies to clients about having one. Has a no care attitude with clients and a superiority complex . There is no chance of any success with your claims if you choose her firm to take on your work. My advice is to stay far away from this women and this law firm as she is an extremely lazy person. Very quick to demand money from you but to get the work done you will cry and have to beg. It would be in your best interest to find another law firm. Pathetic human! I wish I did my homework before consulting her. I would have avoided her like a plague.
