An unpleasant West Coast Experience in Yzerfontein

<p>I had a very unpleasant experience of the West Coast small town: Yzerfontein. I stayed at Zabdiel Guesthouse - 65 Lutie Katz Street on the 18th & 19 February 2017. During the night of the 18th, two black males assaulted me in the guestroom, where I was very lucky to survive the attack, being a female on my own. After this whole experience, most people of Yzerfontein was aware of four other similar break-ins in the area, as locals posted their experiences on the town's facebook page the next morning. I was never even visited by the owner, who was made aware of my experience the previous night, by the other guests in a different unit. There is no cellular reception at the guesthouse as well as in a substantial range away from it, so I left the guesthouse the afternoon of the 19th to go and report the attack at Darling Police Station and to search for signal to contact the owner. When I eventually got hold of her, a most shocking reply was given to me: she at first told me that this whole incidence of the previous night was my own fault; she will not take responsibility for her guests' safety, as I didn't scream for help after being threatened by a knife which is so untrue, but she was not even there to confirm it. The other guests heard the screams, but thought it came from the other neighbours side and did not react to them. The advert states clearly that "free wi-fi" is available, and after my conversation on the 19th, she just said that it might only be made available in two weeks time - false advertising!! So I could not phone the police, family or friends for assistance after the attack, and believe that I'm very blessed to be alive! </p>
