Yoco Khumo short lifespan

I started using Yoco Khumo card machine on 27 February 2022 and last used it on 7 June 2023. It is now faulty showing a message with 'back cover warning' and we can no longer use the card machine. Yoco call centre agents told us to buy a new card machine.

Is the lifespan of these card machines roughly 18 months? Are we supposed to buy a new card machine every 18 months?

Thank you to Yoco's reply. I am now able to use my Yoco Khumo card machine. I do not need to buy a new card machine.
