Stay far away. Yoco will leave your business in the lurch.

Yoco suddenly terminated my online business account. Their web site alleges they sent me a notice via email, except that was not true. No mail was received. If I had not checked my dashboard, I would not have known that my account was terminated for what to me is an unacceptable reason.

Their business practices are extremely *****. Stay far away.

Here are the facts, and these facts are exactly the experience of another former client of yours, Yolande, who also wrote a review which you will see below my review.

1. I have been with Yoco for years.
2. I never received any communication from you notifying me about the termination of my service.
3. On your dashboard, it was stated that an email was sent requiring documentation.
4. This was completely untrue. I checked my spam email folder too.
5. Yoco simply terminated my service without even having the common decency of informing me or investigating the issue.
6. Your so-called call center agents refused to help me with my problem.

All in all, amateur-hour shenanigans from Yoco. To all other business owners: if you do not want to be left in the lurch, do not even consider Yoco. This is seriously a company with no moral compass or integrity.

The review below comes from another person called Yolande, whose complaint is very similar to mine. This nonsense seems to be a pattern of unprofessional behaviour on your behalf and represents complete contempt for your customers:

Worst ever!!!! Dont ever support them!!!
I am honestly beyond disappointed with Yoco’s service and the way they treat long-standing clients. After being a loyal client for over 5 years, operating a legitimate and established wellness business in Sandton with three physical stores, I suddenly received an email accusing my business of operating in “prohibited services/products” — which is completely false. No phone call. No proper investigation. No attempt to understand my business. Nothing. Instead, my account was immediately escalated to the “Risk Department,” and payouts on my account were stopped without warning. As a business owner, this is incredibly stressful and damaging. We employ staff, operate physical wellness centres, and have built a reputable brand in South Africa over years of hard work. What makes this even worse is the complete lack of support from Yoco’s team. Every single person I spoke to kept repeating the same scripted apology: “Sorry, but there’s nothing we can do.” That is not support. There is no accountability, no urgency, and absolutely no care for the impact this has on businesses and people’s livelihoods. For a company that markets itself as supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, this experience has shown the complete opposite. I have never experienced such poor communication and lack of professionalism from a payment provider before. Freezing payouts and falsely flagging businesses without even having a proper conversation first is unacceptable. If this is how Yoco treats loyal clients after 5 years, then I genuinely worry for other businesses using them. Extremely disappointed. Worst service experience I have ever had.
