Serious Breach of Privacy at Yoco Kloof Street – Police Case Opened

On Monday, I visited the Yoco offices on Kloof Street. Before using the bathroom, I asked if I could leave my bag in the canteen area. When I returned, I found the door had been locked. I knocked several times, but no one responded.

A staff member eventually exited and used her tag to let me in. To my shock, I saw the barista stepping away from my bag, which had been opened without my permission. The barista appeared visibly startled and quickly walked away, leaving the bag open.

This was a serious violation of my privacy. At no point did I give anyone consent to access or open my belongings.

Due to the nature of the incident, I have opened a case at the police station and requested that CCTV footage be reviewed. I expect Yoco to investigate this matter urgently and respond with accountability and transparency.

I am deeply disappointed that such an incident could occur at a company that positions itself as professional and trustworthy.
