Please bear in mind that the transaction fee is charged as there is a cost to Yoco to provide the service of processing transactions and settling the money into your account. In other words, we charge a handling fee due to inter-bank and processing costs.
Our transaction fee is based on your transaction volume. The maximum fee is 2.95% ex. VAT for card machine transactions and domestic online transactions and 3.4% ex. VAT for international online transactions, and decreases as your transaction volume increases. American Express transactions will be charged 0.45% (ex. VAT) more than your standard fees for VISA and MasterCard (between 3.05% and 3.4% ex VAT, depending on the volume of transactions).You can get an idea of what your rates would be here https://www.yoco.com/za/fees/
Apart from the initial cost of the card reader, this is the only other cost associated with Yoco. There are no monthly rental, admin or hidden fees. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions and we'd be happy to assist.
