Unfortunately not viable / feasible / reasonable anymore for BUYERS and SELLERS are the once that have to compromise.

Yaga is a safe platform and I use to love it UNFORTUNATELY they have changed their payment system AGAIN, first it was 9%, NOW it is 5% + R14.50 for the “Buyer Protection Fee” ON EACH AND EVERY SINGLE PURCHASE.

It does not make it feasible for Buyers to purchase for items under a R100 anymore.

Example: Item of R20 will work you out a TOTAL of R98.50. Shipping costs is understandable BUT to charge 5% on shipping and not just the item of R20.

Yaga has a 1 hour bundle period where you only pay for shipping once per the small entrepreneur shop BUT they charge Buyers / YOU R14.50 with each and every item even if the item is R20.00 you end up paying the 5% and then AGAIN the R14.50, thus a R20 items in the bundle hour will cost you R20 + 5% + R14.50 = R36.50 and this is excluding the shipping you already paid. It might not seem like much but % wise YAGA makes 82% on the item above. The small business get there 100% of their asking price but the buyers looses all the way and the seller has to drop their prices so that Yaga can get there cut.

Yaga is like a landlord basically – sellers have to drop their prices and buyers have to pay more for items in a shop.

Small businesses / some people’s only income like handmade jewellery etc, items under R100 will struggle even more in a difficult economy to sell.

I did contact Yaga first but at this stage they are not too worried about the sellers or buyers.

Yaga started out great but looks like GREED got the better of them.

Shopping on Yaga not FUN anymore, no good deals with all the Yaga costs.
