Subject Formal Complaint Against
Dear HelloPeter Team,
I would like to formally lodge a complaint against Yaga regarding their handling of a seller dispute in which I am being forced to accept a return of a product that was fully functional when I shipped it but is now being returned in a damaged condition.
I sold a Logitech racing simulator set (wheel, pedals, and shifter) via Yaga. Before shipping, I personally cleaned, tested, and confirmed that all components were fully working. The set was securely packaged in boxes with protective packing, and no part of the shipment was loose or exposed.
The buyer collected the item on 2 January. On the same day, the buyer contacted me and stated that they had tested everything and that only the shifter had an issue. Based on this, I initially disputed the claim but later attempted to resolve the situation in good faith by offering to refund the shifter only.
After this, the buyer suddenly claimed that the wheel, pedals, and other components were also defective, even though they had already confirmed earlier that everything else was working. These additional claims only appeared after the item had been tested and used.
At no point did the buyer report:
- Damaged boxes - Broken packaging - Visible courier damage
Yaga nevertheless decided that the item must have been damaged in transit and approved a full return. This decision was made without any evidence of courier damage, and despite the buyer’s own contradictory statements.
Yaga is relying on their return policy, which allows returns when an item significantly differs from its listing or has hidden flaws. However, the item was listed as being in “Good” condition, which Yaga defines as used with minor cosmetic flaws but still fully functional. That description was accurate at the time of sale, and the buyer initially confirmed this.
I am now being forced to accept a return of a product that is no longer in the same working condition as when it was sent, which exposes me to a significant financial loss. Yaga has effectively transferred the risk of post-delivery damage onto me as the seller, even though the buyer had possession of and used the item before reporting further faults.
I am asking HelloPeter to assist in escalating this matter, as I believe Yaga has failed to apply its own policies fairly and has not provided adequate protection for sellers in cases where an item is damaged after delivery.
Kind regards
