On 18/3, I sold an item for R1,800 through the platform. The item was shipped via Paxi on 20/3, following all required procedures. By 15/4, the parcel had not arrived. Both the buyer and I contacted Paxi, who were unable to locate the package and escalated the issue. After a further week with no resolution, I contacted Yaga twice through their request system and received no response. Following guidance on Yaga’s platform, which states that if an item is lost, the order should be cancelled so the buyer can be refunded, I cancelled the order in good faith. Only afterward did Paxi inform me that the courier had been hijacked. I was then told that because no additional insurance was taken, I would only receive a R500 payout. At no point during the Yaga transaction process was it clearly communicated that as the seller, I needed to take out insurance. I followed all instructions exactly as provided by the platform. I am left with a financial loss of R1,300. Yaga has still not responded to any of my requests.
