I had to cancel my child's birthday party

I booked a party for my child's birthday, on email confirmation I received a list of package options, they were quite highly priced, but I booked anyway, was then told I may not bring outside food. A week before the party I was sent menu options for platters and pizza. At almost R600 per platter and R110 per pizza, I queried pricing and advised I could get much cheaper platters myself. With no response, I had to call. I was told that they would put a 30% of cost cover on any food brought into the venue! When I said I would make my own and they can charge the cover, they wouldn't allow it. Incidentally, they don't prepare food in-house, they put their own mark-up on an outsourced supplier who already have a hefty mark-up. With no flexibility on this issue and being told they are the cheapest bowling alley in Johannesburg (except of course for their food pricing!), I called the owner, Charlene, who was just as rude as her manager, Precious. I have now had to cancel the party one day before! Shocking service with bully tactics to make you pay more than is reasonable! I will never recommend this place to anyone! Such a shame as it's a really cute little place and could be awesome.
