The worst flat white ever
This experience was in Xpresso in Somerset Mall. I ordered a flat white coffee. The person behind the counter (barista??) asked me "medium or large?". That should have been sufficient warning, because a proper flat white comprises the following, and only the following: a double shot of espresso with steamed milk and topped with a layer of velvety "microfoam", and is served only in one size. But I soldiered on, and asked if there was more espresso in the large size ("yes") - and told him a flat white is supposed to come in one size only (blank expression). So I took my seat and hoped for the best. Or at least something reasonably good. What I was served was without doubt the worst flat white I have ever had. Of coffee aroma there was zero. Coffee taste? I had to use my imagination - a lot. The worst, positively the worst flat white ever. Xpresso - teach your 'baristas' how to make a PROPER flat white, not to save on coffee beans, and that there is ONLY ONE SIZE!
