Very disappointing experience at Xaviera Guest House.

I stayed there on 2 April 2026 with my wife and 8-year-old daughter. I was even charged an extra R425 for my child, which I accepted as their policy. The issue was the poor and rude treatment.

I checked in at 2 pm, went out at around 8 pm to fetch something, and returned at around 11 pm to sleep. On both occasions, the owner shouted through the window because the gate was making noise. The next day, I received a WhatsApp message complaining that the gate must not be opened late at night because of other guests.

We were not making noise or causing any disturbance. We were simply accessing the property as paying guests. If guests are not allowed to open and close the gate after certain hours, this should be made clear before taking payment.

Being shouted at for normal entry and exit is unacceptable. Poor service, poor communication, and an unpleasant experience overall. I will not return and would not recommend this guesthouse.
