******** and untrustwothy

I contacted the dealership via email and inquired about the vehicles mileage and if the vehicle had a service history, to which I was answered that it had 148 000km on the clock and had a full service history. As I was out of the country at the time, I had a friend look at the overall condition of the vehicle, he was assured the vehicle is in mint condition, and I paid a holding deposit. I advised the Dealership of my date of return and arranged to collect the vehicle. When I got to the dealership the vehicle was not there, but at an auto electrician for reasons unknown. While I waited for the vehicle I made the payment to the dealership. I asked for the service book and manual, Sales Agreement and Invoice. The Dealership had so many excuses, but promised I will be advised when it was ready for me to collect. When the vehicle arrived I collected it and drove home. I noticed that the mileage advertised and actual mileage did not correspond . The mileage was actually 190,000 kms. On the way home, not even 50 km from the dealership, the engine light came on and the vehicle lost power, but after a few seconds the light went off and the bakkie was back to normal. When I got home, being in Herm****, I took the vehicle to General Motors for a check up, As I was concerned about the engine warning light that came on. There were a few minor issues, and the Dealership advised I take the vehicle back to them to have the issues fixed. Whilst the vehicle was being checked, I had new off-road tyres fitted. I went back out of country and the next time I returned , some of the faults were fixed , but in fixing some of the faults they changed the instrument cluster, and the mileage now displayed more than 410,000km. Also from this point on the diff lock, or any of the 4x4 functions did not work. I noted that the fuel gauge was still faulty, which meant the changing of the cluster did not solve the problem. I requested that the old cluster be put back, as the 410,000 km reading was unacceptable to me. They took the vehicle in again to fix this and the 4x4 , and I went out of country again. When I got back in January the 410,000 km cluster was still installed in the vehicle and after driving about 75 kms the 4x4 mode glitched again. By then I wanted the deal cancelled. The Dealer Principal said he will take it in personally to get the Isuzu fixed for me. Whilst going through the vehicle to remove personal items before the vehicle went in again, I came across a Glasfit inspection record in the glove compartment. This inspection was dated 2013 and the odometer reading on the record at that time was 295,000 kms. If calculated this vehicle must have done more than 500,000 km until today and does not have a service history. I had a sit down with the Dealer Principal and explained that I am not happy and want a refund. He suggested he sells the vehicle and refunds me. I had to catch a flight that day and did not have a lot of time to argue with the man. I explained I just needed my money back, and I left, as I was running out of time to return to work. I am not comfortable with them selling it to recover my money, as they already lowered the value significantly by not supplying a service record and now that the vehicle has almost 3 times the mileage as to what they advertised it for. I should also note that in the 10 weeks that the vehicle was with them, they used the vehicle twice to drive to Saldahna, which is 160 km from Capetown. I know this due to me finding receipts and ticket stumps in the vehicle for Saldahna during the time period that they had the vehicle in their care. I also received a speeding fine through the post from a area not very close to the dealership during the time that they had care of the vehicle. It will be wise to avoid these guys at any cost
