Not impressed with CapeSkip
Firstly,
When I ordered the Skip from this place, there were no regulations of how to use the skip, the limit on filling it etc. No one explained to me the use thereof. When I hire a trailer from a trailer place, all their regulations and limitations are documented and I am informed thereof when its collected or dropped off. (This was not the case)
So when I ordered the Skip (for the first time in my life), they dropped it off and then drove off without informing me of anything. I filled the skip with random bits of goodies (pillars, leaves, etc) and notified the company that the I am done with the skip. Needless to say, when they collected the skip, they threw half of the stuff out in the middle of my yard and told my nanny that the skip was too full and they leaving it there. When i contacted the company about it, I was told "that it is common sense that it should not be that full and I cant document every regulation". Even though there is NO maximum line labeled on the Skip
After much arguing with this person and wanting the stuff picked up in my yard that they threw out, he told me "you will have to rent another skip and pack it in yourself, my guys just drop off and collect"
I find it absolutely ridiculous that someone treats a client like that, expecting that I as the client: "Have common sense" and should know the rules around using a skip. Then have clean up the mess they caused after working the entire weekend trying to clean my property in the first place. Needless to say, in the end I had to pay over R2k for absolute ridiculous service and arrogance, having a service provider speak down on me cause I do not know the regulations, that its common sense... everyone should know it. But I don't.... I suppose the same can be said for someone filling up their car with Petrol and at a Petrol station...there are a huge amount of regulations to adhere to as a petrol attendant, the way the nozzle is inserted into the tank the way its taken out, etc... They are trained, but not everyone knows this... and therefor as a service provider should stipulate this and make their clients aware of it but they did not...
I just will not ever use this company ever again, not only because they threw half the rubble about in the middle of my front yard, but the arrogance and making me as the client pay for another skip and having to fill it up AGAIN even though I was not informed thereof.
